Fearless
"Being fearless isn't being without fears; it's having them but jumping anyway." ~Taylor Swift
If you know me at all you know that I am a huge Taylor Swift fan. So I must begin with this quote from her. She makes a point. This particular quote may apply to anything. Relationships, school, sports etc. But I personally like to apply it to my relationship with Jesus Christ.
I grew up going to church and attending a small private Christian school for 9 years. There talking about Christ was basically expected. Now I'm at a place where it is often looked down upon. What does this mean? Does it mean that I keep it to myself? No. It simply means that I jump anyway.
I'll put it this way. About a month ago I was at church and the speaker put it like this: Say you have the cure to Cancer. Only you. And this cure can cure anyone of it completely and forever. Now would you just keep it to yourself? And not share it with anyone? Of course not. This is the way I look at the gospel. We have the cure. The ultimate cure. We have Jesus Christ and His word. We must share it FEARLESSLY.
If we are personally in a relationship with our Creator, why not share that with others who don't know Him? Ephesians 6:19-20 says, "Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will FEARLESSLY make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it FEARLESSLY, as I should."
There it is. Plain and simple. We have to be fearless. We can't hide behind our religion and say it's just a personal matter. We are called to spread God's word. Sure you may be looked down upon but will you allow this to let you fall down? This is something I have personally been struggling with lately. I have been scared to tell people the good news because I am afraid of their reaction or what they might say to me. God tells us upfront that this is going to happen in Mark. He says "All men will hate you because of me; but he who stands firm to the end will be saved." (Mark 13:13)
Sharing the greatest love story of all time can be scary. But we have God looking out for us. He calls us to do this for his glory. Declare his love FEARLESSLY. We may be scared to bring it up in a conversation with a friend or tell someone that they can live eternal life in love with God, but we should jump anyway. We cannot keep the cure to eternal life. We must share it. We must go. Fearlessly.
Fearless for My Father,
